Perdition
If you visit Washington, DC
You will find it kinda spacey. There’s just two parties and you must believe Their God’s almighty or you’d better leave! Perdition, perdition! You’re required to applaud, But tune in your ears and get red and blue running fraud. Watch the Hollywood budget surgeons Being cut down by insurgents. Paul’s gotta skim and Don’s gotta lie But not for long before they fry. Perdition, perdition! You can keep the greatest true faith, And then writhe in hell as a powerless wraith. 21 February 2019
From the Daily Whale.
Shortened parody of “Pollution” by Tom Lehrer. I put in many close similarities in the sound. This is an example of parody that does not make fun of, but gains meaning from its original.
