26 April 2019 - Unready Britain

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Great Britain is of course named after Cnut the Great, king of all English and Danes and Norwegians and some Swedes. After Brexit, it will have to be renamed. Perhaps the correct medieval king is Ethelred the Unready.

clue:

Cnut is also known as King Canute. The knack of pronouncing “kn-” is kno longer... remembered.

give me a clue so sweet and true
