Suppose you design the most beautiful and logical artificial languageāand it takes off, soon children are growing up as native speakers. Then normal language evolution takes over, and within decades the beauty starts to fade. Unless, perhaps, you understand the exact tradeoffs between ease and clarity, and can find the first ever stable optimum, so that the language never changes and never loses speakers. You can call it Newspeak.
