9 January 2023 - stupid audience

Anything you say will be misunderstood by some. It doesn't matter how natural the idea is, or how careful the wording, and adding clarifications will cause overinterpretation. Of course we conclude that audiences are stupid and must be talked down to. Aren't most people stupider than you? But not so, the world is more confusing than that. Those who talk down are not as smart as their audience.
