7 eras of SSCAIT champions

The player with the highest rating on each day I’ll call the “champion” of the day. It turns out that the SSCAIT daily champions change frequently. I calculated all the daily champions and manually divided the time period into eras that looked to me to have different sets of champions.

So the longest "ruling dictator" has been ICElab. Interesting. ^^

I think that 2012 - 2015 was a period of something like a BW AI winter. That would explain why just two bots used to dominate for so long. 2016 OTOH has been rife with activity and strength increase. Something like a Renaissance. Let's hope the SSCAIT 2017 competition will be very strong (as in providing tough and exciting games) and 2017 in itself would be at least as fertile as 2016 :)
