the Daily Whale - 28 September 1991

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

When someone complains to me that The Daily Whale has overstepped the bounds of propriety, I reply, “Good, good. Please don’t tell me why.”

They always tell me why. Then they demand, “Why do you say that’s good?”

“I took your complaint as evidence that the joke was on target, but now that I have heard your reasons, I am not so sure.”
