Today’s controversial test launch of the anti-pirate trigger ended in failure, announced Strategic Defense for the Music Industry. “The consumer booster device failed to ignite the copy kill vehicle,” admitted SDMI spokesbaron Rich Railroader. “It’s disappointing, but the misfire of routine boosterism doesn’t impact our mission of protection against rogue Napsterists. Let’s just pretend it never happened.”

Due to a careless mistake, SDMI officially stands for Secure Digital Music Initiative. SDMI does have an anti-piracy trigger—honest! It has not been launched.
