Americans! Impress your friends from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! Be the only one on your block who can recognize Canadians! Look for these distinguishing marks:

- Use of the word “meh”: “Meh. I’ll do it.”
- Understatement: “Yeah, getting the million bucks was OK.”
- Unexplained knowledge of the nationality of Ferron or even Margaret Atwood.
- Incomprehensible references to “the PM” or “the CBC”.
- Speaking French: “Les americains sont vraiment des imbeciles.”
