Medical Residents No Longer Dead Tired

reporter: Dr. Nottagen, how has the new 80-hour work week affected your day-to-day life?
Oops Nottagen: I spend only half as many hours in the hospital, but I find that my job has become more complex.
reporter: In what way?
Nottagen: Well, earlier today I was so well-rested that I corrected treated a case of compound myocardial fracture, and the patient lived long enough to contract a secondary infection.
reporter: Has your life off the job improved?
Nottagen: Just the opposite. Moonlighting time counts against the 80 hours, so I’m poor. I’ll look cheap on my big date tonight.
