Enemy Combatants

Al Qaeda boss: Does the Supreme Court decision have any implications for our plans?
Al Qaeda strategist: Not in itself, but for what it reveals about the Bush administration, yes.
boss: They’re stingy with info, so that’s useful.
strategist: Exactly. What they fear about allowing detainees their day in court is not that any might escape punishment, or might tie up the courts wasting time. They’re afraid of what our people might say. They’re afraid of information getting out.
boss: Hmm. So you think maybe TV commercials?
strategist: They’ll be cowering in their bunkers.
boss: Excellent, just like we were last year.
