4 October 2004 - presidential debate

A presidential debate is a good thing—or at least, it’s better
than the two mutually-independent self-intersecting fractal
monologs that we get in its absence. I love to watch the raw skill
as they effortlessly snatch cliche from the jaws of originality
and cut through complex issues like a hot chainsaw through
butter, splattering droplets over the audience. You can see them
champing at the drill bit to say, “There is nothing to feel but
feeling itself!”
