The classic Bush Administration response to opposition is not to cover its own weaknesses (the TSA is only pretending), it is to identify the opponent’s strength and attack there. If the enemy’s strength is a weakness, then the enemy is weak at all points—it is a strategy of attack surface management. If you think about it that way, it’s no surprise that Dubya favors the Dubai Ports deal; spread ’em thin. And, since he’s right for a change, it is fitting that he should come under attack for it.
