When things don’t work, there’s usually a workaround so that you can work anyway. But we’re getting better at making things work right the first time. Any decade now, workarounds will become rare, you’ll waste little time solving silly problems, and we’ll realize that we have achieved a smoothly-functioning civilization when our souls die.
