I wonder if the great American mistake wasn’t to elect FDR, a president known by initials. He did finally stop the currency deflation, but in return the world suffered a sudden acronym inflation that has left ideas appearing flat, homogeneous and isotropic, and also causally disconnected from the larger cosmos. The GAB (Great Acronym Blunder) has left us all CLUELESS (Tending to Waste Time Playing Around with Acronyms).
