26 October 2009 - human population crash

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Proof by Existence

Think of yourself as a random sample of one drawn from the set of everybody throughout history. Why do you live now? Well, most people who ever lived are alive now, so it was probable that the sample would not fall in the past. The same reasoning shows that the human population will probably crash soon—if the population kept growing, or continued level far into the future, the odds of your living now would be slight. Ha ha! Despite all the setbacks, my plan to become king of the world will succeed!
