28 January 2014 - rich sacrifice

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Let’s examine the super-rich again. We can’t efficiently “tax” all of them, because some of their wealth is in the form of titanium yachts and mansions full of Matisse paintings, and those things lose value without other rich people to buy them. We need a few brave volunteers to accept the terrible sacrifice of all this painful luxury so that everybody else can be better off. It would be tough, but I believe I have the necessary spirit.

clue:

Actually we can’t efficiently expropriate all their wealth because, well, war is never efficient.

take oh take this clue away
