Something is terribly wrong in Argentina. In an alarming deviation,
Cristina Kirchner’s government made a correct economic decision.
Argentina unnecessarily defaulted on its sovereign debt in a
devastating minimization of harm. How will the nation cope?

It also (1) embarrasses the United States, which rightly should be
embarrassed in this case, and (2) encourages the world to set up more
sensible institutions for sovereign default. The last try didn’t work
(see 1).
