Maybe instead we should blame the police for willingness to arrest somebody for demonstrating knowledge. I propose an art project, satire protected under the first amendment, which sends out packages containing cheap Arduino or Raspberry Pi circuit boards (popular with electronics amateurs everywhere) with other educational material to police stations nationwide. We’ll label each package THIS IS NOT A BOMB so that they x-ray it.

clue:

Well, I won’t be doing it myself, because one of the necessary safety precautions is a big publicity push, and I’m allergic. But I recommend similar ideas.

Another good precaution would be to pre-notify the police of the incoming package, and tell them a unique mark that will appear on their package to distinguish it from any hoaxes. It would be educational to find out how many of the packages police decided to blow up anyway “out of an abundance of caution.”

give me a clue so sweet and true
