The dictionary says that "primate" has two meanings, but at heart there's only one. It's a human or other monkey, or it's a chief bishop, a specific primate. In other words, a big church boss is equivalent to all the monkeys in the world. And that's nothing strange. A head of state is equivalent to all animals, especially tardigrades and sea cucumbers.
