2 February 2026 - rule of law

Trump says that the only check on his power should be himself. What's
your excuse for grinding down the rule of law? It's been throwing sparks
for a long time. Jack Smith was set to work late and not allowed time to
bring his case before he was prevented by executive branch policy.
Prosecutors have dropped cases and judges have dropped punishments for
fear of political bias accusations--a political reason. Laws
passed after the Civil War to protect the workings of government could
have prevented Trump from being elected, but were ignored. Even the
common sense conclusion that someone in jail can't run the country was
overridden because the constitution doesn't happen to say so and people
didn't want to fight about it. Everybody else had an excuse, so what's
yours?
