Wait, there is another solution. Social status only matters within an in-group; all members of out-groups are enemies. Normally, in-group and out-group are decided dynamically by a social nearness hierarchy, part of the human self-organization. But if we abolish hierarchy, it follows that every in-group has size one and everyone is at everyone else's throat. This can be accomplished pharmaceutically. Take your alienation pill!
