The rule of law, even more than Dilbert, is one of the great developments of human history. Like TV Guide, the rule of law is a prerequisite of civilization. Without the rule of law, society must finally collapse into barbarism, anarchy, war, and ever-longer commercial interruptions.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we had it?
