Why Vampires Do Not Love

Suppose it is true, as Thomas Fuller said, that “Absence sharpens love, presence strengthens it.” Then with too much absence love is a sliver under the nail; with too much presence it is steel rebar; and with the perfect mix, love is a wooden stake to the heart.
