Let me explain. To a physicist, the zero-point is not the price before which you wish you had sold out, but rather it is the lowest quantum state, the one with the least energy. To a physicist, the vacuum is not a cat-scaring device, but rather it is nothing, the empty void. Yet physicists know perfectly well that even the zero-point energy of the vacuum, the weakest weakness that can exist, is immensely powerful. The zero-point energy of the vacuum makes atom bombs, and stars, and supernovas look like firefly blinks. And yet, because physicists are traitors, we still have no flying cars.
