Don’t you want beliefs abiding, beliefs ancient and beloved
and upheld by the bulwark of the intelligent designer? All
you scientists have to say in your defense is that these
magnificent spires of faith, these tremendous mysteries,
have the one quality that we all seek, the selfsame quality
of their inherent truth: They are unfalsifiable.
scientist: Yes, almost like Thomas Chatterton. Highly
creative, and unfalsifiable unless you actually look.
