21 July 2012 - purpose and use
< yesterday --
tomorrow >
The purpose and the use of a thing are often different. For example,
the purpose of the little scoop in your box of laundry detergent is to
fool you into using more than you need, while its use is to dig out the
scoop from the next box. Similarly, the purpose of a political leader
is to hold up the flag, while their use is to act as a target.
