10-20-Life Law

The great thing about Florida law is how it encourages marksmanship. Discharge a firearm in the commission of a violent felony and you get a mandatory minimum sentence of twenty years. So don’t fire a warning shot, the prosecutor will argue that you didn’t really feel threatened or you would have shot to kill. Down you go, twenty years for bad aim.
