The report for the Germanwings airline crash a year ago has come out. The pilot deliberately flew the plane into the ground. The report recommends closer mental health monitoring for pilots who have any history of mental health problems. That will, of course, stop pilots from seeking treatment. Clearly more is needed. We won’t know who’s unsafe to fly until we monitor all pilots, because nothing will drive them crazy faster than being constantly checked to see whether they’re going crazy.
