Ever since the invention of invention, inventions have been coming faster and faster. But there must be a physical limit; you can’t invent both an ultimate gadget and an ultimate gadget beater. In some future century we’ll start to run low and the patent system will become meaningful again. I propose that everyone who talks about limits to growth should be frozen and not revived until then.
