Studies conclude that being funny is associated with dying young. But epidemiological studies are not able to tell cause from effect. It seems unlikely that humor causes death, though there are issues such as giving away the best medicine instead of keeping it for yourself, or being murdered by people who don’t get it. Overall, it’s more likely that dying is funny.
