11 August 2016 - self-defeating intelligence

Fact 1: Predicting the future is the basis of intelligence.
Fact 2: As the world changes faster, we can no longer predict.
Conclusion 1: We are getting stupider.
Question: But why is the world changing faster?
Answer: Because our prediction ability is still good enough for us to find improvements we want to make.
Conclusion 2: Intelligence is like time travel; you can invent it, but then it destroys itself.
