29 October 2016 - Dyn attack
< yesterday --

James Clapper, boss of U.S. intelligence, told Congress that the
unprecendently large denial of service attack against Dyn was by
a “non-state actor,” which rules out that it was a Hollywood script.
The coded message may have been “if criminals can do that, then in
case of a serious war the whole internet will go down hard.” But
then again, Clapper also told Congress that the NSA collects no data
on Americans, so maybe the message was “we know what government did
it, but let’s try to avoid escalation.” Darn, encryption really does
make messages unreadable!
