14 December 2016 - Ralph Roister Doister

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

The huge year 1552, or sometime around then, gave us the play Ralph Roister Doister, in which the title character, unable to afford a trophy wife, complains “Why did God make me such a goodly person?” Accept no blame: We can be sure that any disasters brought about by Donald Trump’s policies will not be his fault. If he meets insurmountable opposition, eventually he will fall back and, again like Ralph, lie “Alas, I am slain!”
