18 January 2017 - jobs and social media

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

What the Romans called bread and circuses, we call jobs and social media. When the robot revolution finally arrives, this much is clear: The robots will take away our jobs and give us more social media. The machine economy will be vastly more efficient, so we’ll have no shortage of bread; the question is how our new masters will distribute it. We may need to program in the goals soon. I propose that we code the robots to pay us for reading social media—we’re all happy, since we get what we want and they control what we believe.
