Hypothesis: The time to start thinking about space colonization is when the term “small world” starts becoming popular, so around 1850 during the age of railways and clipper ships. We should nurture plans until the time is ripe to undertake them, at the height of the reality distortion field, sometime between the birth of Steve Jobs and the end of the Trump administration.
