The People’s Liberation Army, whose original purpose was to steal (“liberate”) stuff for the people, has a conscription system. But it hasn’t used conscription since 1949, so in practice the PLA is an all-volunteer force. And Hong Kong protesters are of course doing as they wish, so where’s the moral problem? It’s all between consenting adults.
