10 April 2020 - paper shredding

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Remember the good old days when we destroyed documents by burning? Today we shred paper instead, not to destroy information but to make it too expensive to be worth recovering. Well, shredding doesn’t work any more: Scan the paper bits, and software can reassemble the pages. We can be sure the method is in use, though users prefer to keep quiet. I think we need to go back to burning. The bored shredder employees will be delighted to receive flamethrowers.
