Though perhaps, if you wash your hands as often as you should, you may become bored with the happy birthday song and fall back on “harpy bird-dog Duluth.” Instead, I recommend thinking a thought, starting with “Why does anyone over primary school age need to be taught how to wash their hands?” Your hands will be clean by the time you conclude that the aim of culturally mandating washing, a behavior we remember from a life that now seems distant, is not cleanliness.
