The key aspects of the Big Lie are that it should be emotionally appealing to its target audience, and that it should be so extreme that they tell themselves “my darling Trump lies, but not about that, it would be obvious.” Its beauty is that it depends on the support of its victims lying to themselves, so that making the lie more obvious (even judges appointed by Trump throw out his lawsuits) makes it stronger.
