When people say “the wild blue yonder” they stress “yonder” as if it
were a noun, though it is an adverb meaning “over there”. And it’s
redundant; where else would wild blue be? When the space aliens land, I
will explain it to them as best I can through the language difficulties.
They will depart in sadness, convinced that true communication is
impossible.

I found several dictionaries which say that “yonder” can be a pronoun or
a noun. None of them gave an example other than “the wild blue yonder”.
I suspect it’s because there is no other example.
