It’s out of fashion in the West, but I favor the reunification of China. Back when the Nationalist Chinese retreated to Taiwan in the 1940s, they were similar to the Communists in ruthlessness, but since then the polities have taken unfortunate separating courses. China is a big country and hard to govern, but even so, I can’t imagine a better outcome than to increase its size by one more island and put the whole place under the rule of Taiwan.
