To fight the pandemic, or global warming, or whatever, pundits generally call for collective action. Pundits favor world government and other distant ideals, and do not take into account the unremitting remittances, or the totality of partiality (“there is no daylight between our positions, only a vast expanse of night”). Rather than collective action, today we should settle for action by everybody.
