Research suggests two ways to reduce conspiracy theories in the wild, one difficult and one easy. And we need to do both. The difficult way is to reduce social inequality. Conspiracy theories thrive among those who see the world as unfair, for example because billionaires like Donald Trump make decisions to benefit billionaires like Donald Trump.
