Why do "rogue" AI systems keep breaking into other companies?

A. It's advertising. We're that good, you'd better buy our service to defend yourself.
B. It's advertising. You can be a criminal too!
C. It's practice for the final battle for global domination.
D. Human stupidity and incompetence, same as usual.

If you don't want the machine to be able to break out of its "sandbox" test environment, first give it the job of breaking out. When you've tightened up the sandbox enough that it can't, then you run your real tests. It's easy in principle.
