In the 1920’s the U.S. was prosperous, but it had Prohibition and gangsterism. In the 1990’s the U.S. is prosperous, but it has a War on Drugs and gangs.

Notice that the cycle time is about one human lifetime. We’re stuck until we start learning some history.
