Enterprising people move to the United States because it’s a great place for the smart and hard-working to make their fortunes. But those who want nothing more than a secure income and a warm television generally don’t have the initiative to move to Sweden.

There is a way for all Americans to get what they want without emigrating. We can partition the United States and install a socialist government in Alabama.

As a side benefit, Alabama’s public schools would improve.
