Scientists know a lot, but due to the nature of science they aren’t quite sure about most of it. Fishermen understand little beyond their own profit, but due to the nature of business they’re utterly self-confident about that. Somehow, politicians have to form a compromise environmental policy.

So don’t blame politicians for the scandals they fall into. The nature of politics forces them into compromising positions.
