Correction: You have the right to remain silent in the United States. But since Americans are so big on free speech and self-promotion, in practice you gotta keep talking. There are unpleasant countries where the right to remain silent would fill a real need—for example, the one inhabited by Rush Limbaugh. That poor man deserves to be warned that what he says will be used against him.
