17 November 2000 - election in court

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

The Gore and Bush camps joined hands today to declare that, even in the litigious United States, not all decisions are made in the courts. “This great land of ours has justice for all,” they stated in a consent decree. “But once we have a new president, the second-most important branch of the U.S. government will be free to act without direct oversight. This nation has a president for a reason, and that reason is to go where the Secret Service says.”

In other news, the Supreme Court today without comment declined to review tomorrow’s weather.
