26 November 2000 - election war
< yesterday --

Elections are an advanced form of civil warfare based on
economic principles.
In a poor country, the winner of an election is the side that
pays the most to the ballot counters;
in a rich country, the side that offers the most to the public;
in the United States, the side with the most expensive lawyers.
The advantage of an election over an old-fashioned war is that the
damage and destruction happen later, while you get through the worst
of the lies immediately.
